Beggining POLI SCI

As we begin a new semester in POLI 477: Green Politics, I should start by giving a short bio about myself. My name is Jake Hoffman, Freshman Environmental Science major from Downingtown, Pa; a suburb of Philadelphia. I came down to visit USC when I flew into Columbia on my way to visit UNCW, CCU, CofC and Clemson. I decided to take a quick walk around of the campus with my father after he told me he was a football recruit here back in his college days. I fell in love with the campus right away and told my dad, "if I don't take the CofC scholarship I'm coming here." I accepted my CofC scholarship but ultimately pulled back to come to USC after all baseball offers went out the window with my knee injury. So I'm here as an Environmental Science Major and in POLI 477 I really hope to get a grasp on what Green Politics does in the real world and what jobs are out there in this type of field after graduation. I'm interested to learn what policies have a major impact in the green community and what can be done to change current policies.
